Halloween Spirit Dress up day

We are getting excited about Halloween here at AOFC and so this week all of our kids brought out their best Halloween gear to show off before the big day! There were skeletons, pumpkins, lots of cute pjs, cool headbands, you name it our kids were wearing it! Dress up days are the best especially with a holiday theme as they tend to be the most creative and fun way to see what everyone comes up with. Even the teachers got in on the dress up day action and we can't wait to see all the awesome costumes that Halloween will bring! Happy almost Halloween from AOFC!

There was lots of paint, hot glue, and tape being used these last few days at AOFC as it is our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest and the classrooms are seriously bringing the competition heat as they compete for the win! The creativity and hardwork that went in to these pumpkins is clear because voting for a favorite has been difficult among the families as there are so many amazing creations to choose from.  The Very Hungry Catepillar, Stitch, a candied apple, Dumbo, a mummy and other fantastic pumpkins are on display and it is going to be exciting to see who will be the winner! Which Pumpkin will be the winner?!!  The winner is........ pumpkin #6, Toothless!! Yay!

Fire Safety Week at AOFC!

WEEOOO WEEEOOO!! Calling all Firefighters at AOFC!! This week was all about Fire Safety and Prevention which mean we had a very special guest visit us on Tuesday! It was the Franklin Fire Department! They taught us about how to be safe if there was a fire by stop, drop, and roll; following teachers or adults to their emergency exit, and staying toegther. We learned how the fire truck worked, saw its flashing light display when they have to go to an emergency, and even got to listen to the horns and sirens play! One of the firefighters put on his whole fire suit, boots, hat, mask, and gear that all keeps them safe whenever they have to enter a fire to save someone in danger. Thank you so much to the Franklin Fire Department for coming out and teaching all our children at AOFC about Fire Safety and Prevention!

Asking Questions!

Pumpkins

This week at AOFC it was all about pumpkins! We had a super fun pumpkin hop on the playground and then each classroom got their very own pumpkin to explore including cutting off the top and feeling the inside!! Our infants even got in on the pumpkin action with special sensory bags that contained seeds and the gooey, stringy part of the pumpkin which they loved feeling, squishing and trying to eat!! The kids also learned that the seeds can be used to grow new pumpkins and that they can even be roasted so that they can be eaten!

Checking out the seeds inside a pumpkin!

Using his hands to feel the inside!
