Summer activies at AOFC

 We have had quite a week at AOFC starting with making Unicorn slime in the classrooms to an awesome Foam party with music and beach balls then ending with Snow cones on the playground for all to enjoy! The kids loved making the Unicorn slime and each classroom made their own with each recipe turning out a bit different each time.  Each child got to take some home at the end of the day and tell their parents they helped to make it!  Wednesday brought us an amazing Foam party including music, beach balls and of course lots and lots of Foam which was obviously the favorite as well as the most talked about when parents picked up at the end of the night.  The week was rounded out with delicous Snow cones to cool down the kids and teachers during their playground time.  It was a fun and jam packed week of super summer activities at AOFC!

Doughnuts with Dads

 Whether they were a dad of one or many, a girl dad, boy dad and all dads in between it was their day to celebrate at our annual Father's Day Doughnuts for Dads event.  All the dads and kids enjoyed doughnuts and milk as well as lots of hugs and smiles. It was a fun event for all and the dads loved the celebration just for them along with the delicious doughnuts.  We love celebrating our families at AOFC and our all our awesome Dads!

Summer special guests!

 It has been a busy summer so far at AOFC and we have had some very fun special guests entertain as well as teach the kids during their programs.  Our first visit was from the Nashville Symphony and they came to read as story to music as well as as lesson the instruments they used, how they sounded, and what each one was called. The kids were mezmerized as soon as they saw and heard both the Violin and Bassoon which is a type of woodwind instrument.  Both the stories and the the instruments were huge hit with the kids and the teachers.  Our second special guest was The Amazing Dean Alan and his show involved both some magic and robots.  Once again the kids loved  and the fact that they got to participate in some of his tricks! We love having special guests this summer and can' t wait to see who will come next!

Ice Cream Social

 You Scream, I Scream,  We all Scream for Ice Cream!!!  There were sprinkles, whipped cream and smiles all around at out annual AOFC Ice Cream Social.  The parents had just as much fun as the kids making their ice cream creations and then sharing it or eating it themselves but either way lots of fun and lots of ice cream was had by all.  We love ice cream and our AOFC families!

Water Day!

With warm temperatures and the beginning of the summer happening it was time to unpack the water slide and clean the water tables for the start of the best day of the week, Water Day!  Each classroom christened the new slide and the toddlers even got a new splash pad for their playground which provided lots of squeals and even some shivers.  Lots of splashing, smiles, and warm towels made our first water day of summer a huge success! We love water day at AOFC!
