Did you know: Play-Doh was first manufactured in Cincinnati, Ohio as a wall paper cleaner in the 1930's then reworked and marketed to Cincinnati schools in the mid-1950's. Finally Play-Doh was demonstrated at an educational convention in 1956 prompting prominent department stores to open retail accounts sell the popular putty.
At AOFC we celebrated National Play-Doh day with our favorite Play doh toys and colors as well as a fun take home treat once all the playing, cutting and rolling was done with the Play- Doh laid out for families to have fun with together. Who knew that a wall paper cleaner from the 1950's would become not only a tool used for fun but learning in classroom and homes in many parts of world. We love seeing the creative uses for Play-Doh in our classrooms and how excited the kids get while both learning and playing with it.
