This past week we had a visit from Brentwood Pediatric Dentistry who taught us all about how to care for our teeth. They did a great job teaching us how to make good choices when eating and we even got to volunteer and help them out. We learned what foods stick to our teeth and which ones don't and are better for us to eat. We also got to read a book about Snappy the Crocodile who showed us just what to do when brushing our teeth. We loved having them here and even got goody bags with toothbrushes, stickers, and other goodies to take home with us! Thanks so much for visiting!

I wonder which foods are bad for us and which ones aren't!

Water is good for us and did not stick to our teeth.

Sweets are yummy but aren't good for us and stick to our teeth!

We loved reading about how Snappy Croc takes care of her teeth!

The dino that came to visit also showed us how he brushes his teeth.

We didn't forget to grab our goodies on the way out! We loved our new toothbrush!

Love Is In The Air

This week we held our annual Valentines Day ! Each of our classrooms held a party and card exchange and had a craft activity set up for some after party fun, while the Enrichment/Common Room was decked out with love. There were tons of sweet treats including cupcakes, and even a chocolate fountain with strawberries, graham crackers, and marshmallows for dipping. Our families loved the craft activities for their little ones which included a stamping station, tattoos, and make your Valentine's station. Of course who could leave without jumping in front on the photo booth and taking a keepsake picture! We had a blast celebrating love with each and everyone of our families.

Sweet Treats!

CPR & First Aid Training

As professional childcare providers we know that parents and guardians trust us with the lives of their children, and that they look to us to keep their children safe. Here at The Academy it is of grave importance to us that we are prepared in case of an emergency.  We hold multiple CPR & First Aid Trainings annually to make sure that our staff is adequately trained. Code One came out to our location and made sure that we were well trained in CPR & First Aid!

Practicing CPR on the adult dummies!

Making sure that you are pressing down hard enough is key!

Hand placement is another key, we have to make sure we are in the correct area!

30 reps of pushing before breathing!

How to properly wrap someone's wound with gauze! Not to tight!

A demonstration is in order!

Knowing how to safely use an epi-pen is important!

Demonstrating proper epi-pen usage!

Superbowl Funday

"We got spirit yes we do, we've got spirit how about you?" Superbowl Sunday is fast approaching and to bring in the end of football season PreK2 hosted a little Superbowl Party of their own. They split up into two teams (Patriots &  Eagles), created banners, pom-poms, played football through learning, and so much more. The even had a half-time performance from Mr. Ian and his guitar, and had tons of snacks(including fresh fruit). In the end they learned about sportsmanship and how to respect one another even though we're not on the same time. It's all about having fun!

Are you ready for some football??

Decorating their team banner! Fly Eagles Fly!

Go Pats!

Introducinnnnggg the Patriots of Prek2!

Halftime score! Everyone wins when you're having fun!

I'd say they enjoyed the show!

What's a Superbowl Party with no food?
