Kym Johnson from Music City Together came to AoFC to host
a special music class just for our Toddler and Infant Friends!

Our Toddler friend had so much fun shaking the maracas

They used colorful music scarves to move with the music!

Kisses!

We even got up and danced together.

Shaking the maracas to the music was this friends favorite!

Everyone enjoyed bouncing on mommy's knee!

Thank you so much Kym for hosting our first Music with Mommy class!

National Play-Doh Day!

September 16th is National Play-Doh Day!

Here is a fun fall recipe for homemade play-dough to try at home!

According to Allison Sonnier this is one of the best play-dough recipes!

Ingredients for the base recipe:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup boiling water

Directions: Heat the water to a boil. While the water is heating add the dry ingredients to the Kitchen Aid. That's Allison's secret to making perfect play-dough. Add the ingredients to the mixer, and the Kitchen Aid does its magic! The play-dough turns out perfect every single time.

Next add the vegetable oil. Once the water boils, at it to the mixer. It does not make a difference you choice to add the color and spice before or after the water. All of the batches turned out just right. Let the play-dough mix on a low speed until it reaches the desired consistency.

If you don't have a Kitchen Aid, you can still follow this recipe play-dough. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, add the oil, add the color and spice, then add the hot water. Mix with a wooden spoon until the dough is cool enough to knead by hand. Knead for a few minutes until a dough is formed.

Some fun fall colors and spices Allison suggests using are:
Cinnamon=Brown
Nutmeg-Yellow
Pumpkin Pie Spice-Orange
Clove-Red
Apple Flavor-Green
