Franklin Fire Department

Last week was Fire Safety Week. We got to talk all about how to stay safe during a fire and what to do when there is an emergency. We practiced a fire drill and learned about stop, drop, and roll. Fire Safety Week was not complete without a visit from the Franklin Fire Department, though! They brought out the big red truck and all the kiddos got to go take a look inside. Those curious minds had the best time exploring all the bells and whistles of the truck. Mr. Sherwood, one of the firemen, brought out the hose and let everyone touch it and pretend to turn it on. After that, he got dressed in his suit and talked to the kids about how firemen are here to help keep them safe! We love having visitors at AoFC, but this one really blew us away. Check out these kiddos with the truck below!

This little guy loved getting to sit up so high and look out at all of his friends!

So many buttons to press! We had so much fun exploring the truck!

Such a small girl with such a big truck! future forewoman in training??

Look at me!! Hanging out in this big fire truck!

Exploring the hose and checking out all it can do. Lets try to turn it on!

Can you see yourself?? The wheels in these brains are turning

All suited up! He's not scary at all, he's here to keep us safe!! Thanks Mr. Sherwood!

He was kind enough to let all of the friends touch his hat and mask to see that its really not scary at all!

Two thumbs up for fire safety!! We now know exactly what to do in an emergency situation!
