This was our first week of Kindergarten boot camp in our Pre K 2 class and the cadets have been hard at work learning lots of new skills to get them ready for their first year of Kindergarten! On Monday's they have lending library day where they get a "Library card" to check out a book to take home and read and bring back the next week. Tuesday's are super cool as it is cafeteria day and the cadets get to eat in the Enrichment room after getting to pick what they want for lunch. They get special number to practice with and even get to choose fancy milk cartons just like they would have a school! On Wednesday's they wear their very special KBC t-shirts to class and Thursday's their homework assignment is due for the week. Finally on Friday its a wrap up of the week and they get to have cafeteria style lunch again to close out the week! These cadets are hard a work on important, yet often overlooked, skills need to navigate Kindergarten with ease. A few of those skill are buttoning, zipping, tying shoe laces, etc.. and they will be practicing all of them so that they will be set up for success when they start their school year! Pre K 2 had a special guest on Friday, Austin ,who will be in first grade next year, come in and give them all the ins and outs of what to expect in Kindergarten. Our cadets will be more than ready to succeed in their Kindergarten classes thanks to all the amazing things they will be learning these next few weeks!
