Y'all, whats more fun than getting to get super dirty by playing in the mud? Especially when you're actually ALLOWED to!? Every year we get tons of soil and lots of spoons, measuring cups, shovels, and toys, and we grab the hose to make mud. This is one of the most exciting days of the year for the kiddos. Mud day gives the kiddos the opportunity to experience different sensory play. They love feeling the mud between their fingers, rolling it up into little mud balls, and of course... smearing it all over their faces! The older kids loved making "mud pies" while the younger ones had fun just using the shovels to dig. Our teachers hid little objects within the mud so that the children could dig for them! Playing in mud helps the children to really experience nature. Mud day really encourages the kids to use their imagination and get super creative. Do you remember being a child and how much joy the mud brought to you? The best part of the kiddos playing in mud is truly the memories created. Our kiddos end up talking about this day for a long time. It may be the messiest day of the year, but you can't deny that it's the sweetest thing to see the look of pure joy in these kiddos eyes. Mud Day 2019... you were golden. Here's to next year and endless amounts of mud!
