Cowboys and Cowgirls of AOFC

 Giddy up Cowboys and Cowgirls of AOFC as it was Cowboy/Cowgirl dress up day and lots of  cute cow pokes came to school in their best boots, overalls and hats!  From teachers to toddlers and each one in between we saw lots of  fun versions of  Cowboys and Cowgirls.  We love dress up days at AOFC as it lets each child be creative and wear what they want for those special days which usually leads to learning and fun in the classroom.  Our rootin' tootin' Cowboys and Cowgirls are the cutest around and love to see all excitement checking out their friends outfit! Dress up days are the best days! YEE HAW!!

Awesome Me at AOFC

 As the summer winds down and school gets back into session, our Frog Street curriculum begins and the first lesson is Awesome Me!  It highlights the differences in each person with the over all message being no matter what you look like, how tall you are, whether you have long hair or short hair you are Awesome.   Each one of our familes at AOFC are unique and special making our school an amazing place to learn and grow!  We love being awesome at AOFC!

Mr. Bond's Silly Science Show

 Mr Bond's partner Dr. Kaboom came to give the AOFC kids a really cool show involving science and even some explosions. Dr Kaboom started the show by talking to them about what is a solid, a liquid and a gas for instance a rock is solid , water is a liquid and air is a gas.  A special experiment involving dry ice and hot water, a solid and a liquid, created an awesome smoke effect as well as an explosion using cups that plugged the top of the smoking dry ice bottle creating a gas that shot the cups into the air.  Amazing!  We loved learning all about science at Mr. Bond's Silly Science Show!

Mother Goose Visit

 We love when Mother Goose comes for her visit and this time was no exception. Mother Goose brought all her friends from the ocean to introduce us to and it was a Commotion in the Ocean as well as so much fun.  The kids were taught an important lesson about what happens when trash ends up in the ocean and how it affects the habitats of the creatures living there.  From silly songs to important lessons, Mother Goose does it all with a smile and her special friends. AOFC loves Mother Goose!

AOFC Drive -In Movie Morning

 We love a good movie at AOFC and making it a Drive-In movie makes it that much better. Our Pre K classes got to make their own cars for the movie and we had everything from Princess cars to motorcycles as well as everything in between all made out of cardboard boxes.  There was so much ingenuity and creativity that went in to building each vehicle and everyone loved admiring each one.  A snack and Cars III topped off the Drive-In movie morning as well as smiles, high fives and lots of engine noises!  It was a fantastic day at the Drive- In at AOFC!

Under Construction at AOFC

 This week at AOFC the theme is under construction so there have been lots of building and sensory related activites going on.  Each classroom got a special box of Stem building materials to make whatever they imagined and there were some pretty awesome creations being built . A  toddler classroom used their diggers, dump trucks and back hoes to dig in shapes and sparkly puff balls as well as large foam blocks to build towers, tunnels and other structures. The kids have loved being under contruction this week, building, creating and learning.

Summer activies at AOFC

 We have had quite a week at AOFC starting with making Unicorn slime in the classrooms to an awesome Foam party with music and beach balls then ending with Snow cones on the playground for all to enjoy! The kids loved making the Unicorn slime and each classroom made their own with each recipe turning out a bit different each time.  Each child got to take some home at the end of the day and tell their parents they helped to make it!  Wednesday brought us an amazing Foam party including music, beach balls and of course lots and lots of Foam which was obviously the favorite as well as the most talked about when parents picked up at the end of the night.  The week was rounded out with delicous Snow cones to cool down the kids and teachers during their playground time.  It was a fun and jam packed week of super summer activities at AOFC!
