Cookies and Milk Social

We had our first ever Cookies and Milk Social and it was a definite favorite with both parents and kids. Who doesn't love cookies, especially if they are sugar and chocolate chip along with chocolate, strawberry and regular milk to drink or dip! We loved hearing the sounds of laughter, conversations of both kids and parents as well as the sounds of cookies crunching and milk slurping! A great time was had by all and we love our familes as much as we love our cookies at AOFC!

Benefits of Stuffed animals

 Our friends at AOFC love stuffed animals and every child and classroom has them in abundance. Have you ever wondered though about the actual benefits of stuffed animals when is comes to social development?! Stuffed animals help children express and understand their emotions. Children often identify with their stuffed animals and attribute emotions and feelings to them. By interacting with their stuffed animal, children learn to express their own emotions and understand those of others.  They can also be used to provide a sense of comfort and security during times of stress as well as a tool to help self soothe and regulate emotions.  Stuffies of all shapes, colors, and sizes are welcome at AOFC!

Grandparents Day

Today was a special day at AOFC, one where we celebrated Grandparents with a tasty breakfast and a sweet gift made by his/her grandchild or grandchildren.  There was so much joy, love, lots of snuggles and waves given by all the Granparents visiting today as well as multiple hugs & kisses at the classroom doors.  It was such an honor to celebrate all the Grandparents of AOFC and what a blessing they are to our students and school family.  AOFC is all about families and Grandparents are no exception! Happy Grandparents Day to all our awesome grandmothers and granddads out there! We love you!

Cowboys and Cowgirls of AOFC

 Giddy up Cowboys and Cowgirls of AOFC as it was Cowboy/Cowgirl dress up day and lots of  cute cow pokes came to school in their best boots, overalls and hats!  From teachers to toddlers and each one in between we saw lots of  fun versions of  Cowboys and Cowgirls.  We love dress up days at AOFC as it lets each child be creative and wear what they want for those special days which usually leads to learning and fun in the classroom.  Our rootin' tootin' Cowboys and Cowgirls are the cutest around and love to see all excitement checking out their friends outfit! Dress up days are the best days! YEE HAW!!

Awesome Me at AOFC

 As the summer winds down and school gets back into session, our Frog Street curriculum begins and the first lesson is Awesome Me!  It highlights the differences in each person with the over all message being no matter what you look like, how tall you are, whether you have long hair or short hair you are Awesome.   Each one of our familes at AOFC are unique and special making our school an amazing place to learn and grow!  We love being awesome at AOFC!

Mr. Bond's Silly Science Show

 Mr Bond's partner Dr. Kaboom came to give the AOFC kids a really cool show involving science and even some explosions. Dr Kaboom started the show by talking to them about what is a solid, a liquid and a gas for instance a rock is solid , water is a liquid and air is a gas.  A special experiment involving dry ice and hot water, a solid and a liquid, created an awesome smoke effect as well as an explosion using cups that plugged the top of the smoking dry ice bottle creating a gas that shot the cups into the air.  Amazing!  We loved learning all about science at Mr. Bond's Silly Science Show!

Mother Goose Visit

 We love when Mother Goose comes for her visit and this time was no exception. Mother Goose brought all her friends from the ocean to introduce us to and it was a Commotion in the Ocean as well as so much fun.  The kids were taught an important lesson about what happens when trash ends up in the ocean and how it affects the habitats of the creatures living there.  From silly songs to important lessons, Mother Goose does it all with a smile and her special friends. AOFC loves Mother Goose!
