Lots of classrooms have hightlighted all the awesome families that help make up our AOFC family whether the are big or small, include grandparents or animals, they are the reason why our school is so special. Hearing conversations, laughter, and even some tears everyday brings excitement as well as joy to each child, parent and teacher that come in the building!! Every classroom has uniquely displayed family pictures so the kids in each classroom can enjoy looking at everyone's unique families as well as their own!

Celebrating the letter P
In Pre K Two it was all about the letter P and so they had Pizza and Pajamas along with Pretzels and Peaches for lunch and snack! They got to make their own English Muffin pizza's while wearing pj's learning about all things starting with the letter P! It was an amazing day and one that they likely won't forget especially the letter P. Learning while having fun is what it is all about and we couldn't be more proud of our Educators and the creative, unforgettable, fantastic ways they help their students learn each and everyday!

Play-doh and it's history
We celebrated National Play-doh day at AOFC with a super fun Play-doh grab and go as well as a make your own Play-doh recipe which each classroom did that was a huge success. Play-doh is a staple in pre schools and elementary schools across the country and just as many homes. Have you ever wondered though where Play-doh came from and why it became so popular?! Well here are some facts that you probably didn't know about Play-doh. It was invented by accident in the 1930's as a wallpaper cleaner that looked like putty and was made of salt, flour, water and many other ingredients. Teachers were finding other uses for the wallpaper cleaner at school as it was reuseable and didn't contain any toxic materials. It was great for art and craft projects and worked as a modeling compound much like clay. Students could shape it with their hands, turn it into something else or let it dry. In 1956, once it was realized that this special wallpaper cleaner was being used by teachers, the product got a new name, Play-doh and it was then marketed to schools and department stores. Today the Play-doh recipe is a secret and since it's invention, people around the world have bought over 700 million pounds of Play-doh. What is your favorite thing to make out of Play-doh?!

Grandparents day
At AOFC there were tons of pancakes being made, cinnamon milk being poured and lots of sweet faces covered in kisses at our annual Grandparents Day breakfast. We loved seeing all the special grandparents that were here from near and far enjoying time and breakfast as well as seeing each child lead them to their classrooms to show off their toys and friends plus meet their amazing teachers! Each child made a special gift in their classroom to give to their grandparents and from the sounds of it each gift given was admired and adored. We love celebrating all the grandparents of AOFC!
