Mud Day!!
It was Mud day at AOFC and next to water day its one of the kids favorites! There is so much you can do with mud besides getting dirty like, mud pies, digging, squishing it in your hands, stirring it, running trucks through it and finally just stomping in it making it fly through the air. Lots of fun was had on the playground in the mud pools complete with lots of toys to try made for an awesome sensory experience. There were so many lessons that were learned today in classes about what mud and dirt could be used for, like what we might plant in the dirt, what can live in the dirt, what along with dirt help plants grow?! That is what Mud day is all about!

STEAM week in PS 2
Our Preschool 2 class got some exciting learning tools to use in their classrooms thanks to a classroom grant inspired by our Assistant Director. In order to get the grant, teachers had to write a proposal with what they would do if they won it and Ms Haley in Preschool 2 was the winner. She outlined an amazing STEAM week where they would get to make sensory bottles, look and learn through a microscope, make their own robots and watch a real robot follow directions, watch butterflies form from caterpillars and release them, work with gears and so many other awesome hands on activities. Preschool 2 had a great time exploring all these new tools and learning while they did it which is what STEAM week was all about! Great job Ms Haley!
