It is almost 2022 and 2021 was a year of new beginnings, new employees, new relationships and many other new things at AOFC. We learned a lot and welcomed in new employees and kiddos as well as said good bye to favorite teachers, kids, and parents in our school family. Everyone is looking forward to a new year with a fresh start to learn new things, stay healthy, form new relationships and most importantly have fun! Wishing you a happy and healthy New year from AOFC! Here is a look back at some of the fun activities we did in 2021!

Firework Countdown
We are almost to the New Year of 2022, can you believe it?! Here at AOFC, we are getting into the New Year Spirit by counting down the days! Today our classes are working on Fireworks. Each child is able to use their imagination, art domain skills, and creativity by creating their own version of a Firework Display! We got to see some rooms put to use various art mediums such as markers, crayons, painting, oil pastels, colored pencils, and so much more! Some tools that were manipulated for this awesome activity were forks, fingers, paintbrushes, and sponges. Happy almost New Year!

Santa visits AOFC
Christmas is in full swing here at AOFC! The tree is up, the stockings are hung, and we are decked out from head to toe in Christmas gear! Now we wait for the jolly old man in the big red suit to show up. He still has work to do at the North Pole but Santa made a stop here on Friday to check in with all the kids and get their final wishes for Christmas before the big day. We made sure to have lots of delicious treats for both Santa and the kids to enjoy while he was here! There were lots of smiles and looks of awe as the the jolly old man in the big red suit put each child on his lap or a high five and answered lots of questions about reindeer and elves as well as what what his favorite cookies are and if he likes chocolate milk or white milk better?! We can't wait for Christmas at AOFC !

AOFC Family Bake Off
We love a good contest at AOFC especially one as yummy as this one! Today was our AOFC Family bake off and the staff got to sample some delicious treats and from tarts to cakes this year's bake off had a little bit of everything! The running favorites were a super scrumptious home made cheese danish, a German chocolate cake, apple tarts and the winner was a unbelievable Hot Chocolate cake. The families out did themselves this year and we are so lucky to have such talented bakers in our midst! We so enjoyed all the baked treats and we look forward to tasting more deliciousness next year!

Fall Fest at AOFC
Thank you so much to all of our families who came out to enjoy all the fun Fall Fest had to offer! We had an absolute blast! Upon entering, families were able to stop at our welcome table to enter into a raffle for some awesome prizes! A free week of tuition, a fall baking basket, and a book basket we’re all up for grabs. Congrats to all of our winners! Past the welcome table, we had tons of outside activities set up for kiddos and parents to enjoy. A petting zoo (with the cutest alpaca I’ve ever seen), train rides, the bounce house, pumpkin painting, and tattoos and face painting. My goodness that’s a lot! But we’re not even finished! Step inside the enrichment room and you’ll find the best balloon guy we know making any balloon creation you can think of. There was also a delicious chili bar, a popcorn bar, some yummy sweet treats and a book fair hosted by our own Assistant Director, Ms. Rachel! This Fall Fest was one for the books. It was our biggest turn out yet. We had so much fun and are already looking forward to next years festivities. Check out the pictures below to see some of the fun in action.

Fall into a good book!
We love a good book here at AOFC! We also know that books are essential to a child's learning and development. Literacy is one of the most important skills a child learns. Did you know that 90% of brain development happens between infancy and five years of age? This rapid growth makes language skills a critical part of a child’s development. Promoting early literacy sets the foundation for learning, encourages higher performance reading, and introduces social-emotional development. We choose books that are written with the intention of promoting imaginative thinking and creativity. These carefully chosen books also include key vocabulary words to encourage the development of language skills. Lets check out some of this reading in action!
