Fitness Fanatics

With today's generation having so many different video games and TV shows to occupy their time, often fitness becomes a second thought. Here at AoFC, we make sure that fitness is involved in everyday routines by offering large gross motor (outside time) twice a day. Today our kids were able to get a demonstration from some special guest. LPG Sports Academy and Lil Sluggers came out to show the kids how fun fitness can be with a little soccer demonstration.

Mr. K.C makes sure that PK is soccer ready. They practice balancing with the ball.

After balancing, it's time to kick! I think this was one of their favorite parts.

The girls get to practice their soccer moves together. Girl Power!

This little one is showing how good she is a being "soccer ready". Check out those balancing skills!

The boys get to work on their footwork. Keep those feet moving boys!

PS2 is waiting patiently to get a soccer balls to start their demonstration. They love when the volunteer makes silly faces!

Finally it's time to kick. Look at those powerful kicks!

Ms. Shay helps one of our friends get set up to kick. Soccer is so much fun!

Thanks LPG and Lil Sluggers for coming out and showing us how fun fitness can be. Our kids really enjoyed the demonstration! Now let's get moving and become fitness fanatics in our everyday life!

DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN??

It may not feel like winter outside, but we definitely felt a winter breeze when Olaf stopped by! Olaf came by this week to have a Frozen dance party with AoFC. He danced, gave out hugs, handshakes, and high-fives.

Hugs all around! Pre-K makes sure they all get to hug Olaf and show him some love.

Ms. Morgan's class had a blast with Olaf. Just look at all of those smiles!

Ms. Ariel and PS2 wave hello to Olaf. They are so excited to see him. They listen to Frozen eveyday!

Ms. Christa's class had so much fun with Olaf! They wanted to make sure they got a group photo with him.

Olaf even made a trip outside to visit PS1 on the playground. He loves giving out hugs!

Someone is ready for hugs with Olaf. Olaf loves getting hugs, look how excited he is!

Olaf was sad to go. He had so much fun here with us. He even left us a snow snack!

Crafting Corner

We love to get into our crafts here at AOFC! Its a great way to see the individuality of all of our children. Each child's artwork is so unique and precious! This week the kiddos got to work on some winter crafts that are to be displayed in the enrichment area and around the building. As usual they had a balst getting to do crafts!

These two girls sure are focused! They are working so hard on their snow globes.

Looks like these kiddos are enjoying their craft time!

Look at all of these beautiful snowglobes. They are so happy with them, as they should be. They look great!

Someone's happy with how their penguin turned out! Good job!

You can't tell me this kiddo isn't excited about his penguin. Look at that face!

Concentration seems to be key in Ms. Sara and Ms. Rebekah's PS1 class.

This little one is making sure that his penguins hat is just the way he wants it.

PS3 did a great job on these snow globes. They look fantastic around the coffee bar!

These penguins are ready to waddle all around the enrichment room! Great Job PS1!

Frosty says hi! Ms.Ariel and PS1 will make sure he stays warm with all those mittens.

Even the little one's got in on the action. Who doesn't love baby footprints?

Be sure to check out our winter crafts during drop off and pick up. Have your kiddos show you which is theirs!

Check Out Crcle Time

Circle time is big here at The Academy! We make sure that everyday our kids take a few minutes to sit down and talk about shapes, numbers, colors, stories, etc. This week we stepped inside Ms. Victoria's Toddler 3 class and visited during circle time.

This week's color is Blue. Even though their favortie color is yellow!

Let's count to seven together. There are seven of us!

Our shape of the week is an oval! We love our shapes!

These books are so interesting. We can't take our eyes off of it!

We absolutely love story time! Books take us to so many different places!

Look we found the oval. That's our shape of the week!

We get to walk around and see our favorite shapes and colors! This is one of our favorite parts of circle time.

We love being able to engage in circle time and learn new things. Ms. Victoria like all of our teachers here is great at engaging the kids in fun filled lessons.

Fun Indoor Actives For The Winter

Fun Indoor Actives For the Winter

What to do if it is too cold to go outside? Here are a few ideas to help get you through the winter months!

Cook Together
They can help you from being in a highchair pulled up to the table to standing on a stool next to the counter helping you. This is the perfect time to explore different scents. Have them smell each spice before you add it to your dish.

Make Some Music Together
Break out any musical instruments you have laying around or use pots and pans and some wooden spoons! You can turn on one of their favorite CD's or have you join in playing a musical instrument if you happen to play.

Snuggle Up and Read Together
Grab one of their favorite books and read together by a fire, under a cozy blanket or just on a chair cuddled up.

Get Crafty
Crafts are a great way to get everyone involved and to see some unique artwork. Don't forget to display, so friends and family can see the amazing work!

Indoor Games
Indoor games are a great way to get some energy out. Your children can even help you create the game. Don't worry, no need to go out and buy things, get creative and use things around the house!

Make Nape Time Interesting
Change up the nap time routine by building a fort. Use pillows and sheets and together you can create an awesome fort. Don't forget to let the kiddos help build; building may tire them out!

Movie Time
Snuggle up on the couch and watch a good movie. Take turns letting the kids choose the movie of their choice. Make sure you bring the popcorn and hot cocoa!

This time of year can be tough. Transitioning from being able to go outside to being stuck in the house. Hope you enjoy these great ideas to help ease the transitioning woes, and keep those kiddos happy!
